Abstract
Current Western societies are complex, heterogeneous and include diverse groups of immigrants. In the last few years the migratory phenomenon in Italy has rocketed. Therefore there is no doubt that Italy, such as other European Countries, became a multiethnic country with a majority oof the Magreb population. The increase of cultural diversity has become a challenge for the health system and for health workers, in particular for the nursing Staff, which is the first thet face this kind of social needs. One of the most common problem in the patient-nurse relationship is the prejudice, that creates barrierswhich are leadind to negative consequences to the essential assistance levels. Consequently, it is very important to solve the prejudice issue in assistance operations. The use of the counselling in the intercultural relation would be an excellent instrument in the prejudice management through the develop of self awareness. The revision has been done using databases of primary studies. The creation of the elaborate was possible thanks to documents and publications.
