Abstract

The aid relationship is a key tool to provide support to the oncologist during the cure process. In order to provide personalized, emotional and personalized assistance, the nurse can use the narration that allows the person to tell their feelings, fears, insecurities, to gain greater self-awareness and relationship with the disease neoplastic.
It is important to constantly evaluate psychic discomfort by using valid scales such as "Distress Thermometer" and "Psychological Distress Inventory". This is to acquire a conception of disease based on the person's centrality, where word and dialogue are an essential part of the empathic relationship that is created between the patient and the nurse.
Everyone lives and faces the disease in a subjective and unique manner by adopting personal coping strategies: hence the need to investigate and examine the type of attitude adopted in the face of the cancer event, which will affect the whole course of care.
Instruments such as the patient's agenda and a well-structured interview allow you to investigate the emotional aspects of the concept of self and the areas of self-esteem and self-efficacy.
