Abstract

The rise in life expectancy in industrialized countries is accompanied by a significant change in the social and economic conditions affecting the weaker sectors of society. the elderly population often falls in abandonment by the socio-family tissue that acts decisively in the development of the condition of the elderly, and is more exposed to the risk of falls and the possibility of a femur fracture. In this case, the person will need immediate hospitalization with surgical treatment and a subsequent rehabilitation path to get them the best possible quality of life possible.
To ensure timely and qualitatively eldecare who have femur fractures, some hospitals have reorganized their operating units, transforming them into orthogeriatric units. This mode of work in  team allows the various health careworkers professionals (of the doctor, nurse, physiotherapist and nutrition) to handle the patient with a multiprofessional approach that is able to provide for the, different therapeutic needs, surgical treatment until full rehabilitation.
Nursing is an integral part of the care path since it follows all phases of the therapeutic process that involves the patient. Through a targeted and peculiar care planning, drawn up according to NANDA, NIC and NOC taxonomy, we can guarantee a holistic approach that can positively change the hospital's hospitalization period, and therefore an example will be offered.
