Abstract
An experimental project of Intensive Treatment Residency (RTI), the introduction of nursing diagnoses through NANDA-I, NOC and NIC taxonomy of Psychiatric Service for Diagnosis and Care (SPDC) in Carpi are the main fields discussed in this revision of literature. In this thesis we try to find out which are the primary care needs, the expected results, and nursing interventions addressed to the psychiatric patient through the formulation of specific nursing diagnoses. Carpi's SPDC nursing team did a period of training, support and mentoring in preparation for handling frequent nursing diagnosis in psychiatry. The study is carried on through the consultation of biomedical databases like: Medline / PubMed, The Cochrane Library. Thanks to this project each mentally disturbed patient has a more costumed assistance, indeed also the health care provider can evaluate its own work comparing the results of the patient care path. Moreover, it became possible to link the evaluation of the outcomes to the evaluation of the appropriateness of the hospitalization of the psychiatric patient.
