Abstract
Diabetes is considered one of the major emergencies of the 21st century. Afterwards an ageing population and an increase in the average age it is becoming an emerging problem. This thesis wants to speak specifically about a major complications of the disease, the diabetic foot. More and more people every year have this complication that, apart from having a negative impact on the health of the person, negatively affects their lifestyle and their social activity.
The first part of the thesis describes the diabetic foot in its peculiarity, various methods of evaluation and the treatment of care based on the latest scientific evidence. Then we must put particular attention to the importance of the adherence to the path of personal care assistant and therapeutic education, as evidenced by the review of the literature.
In the second part, through analysis of a clinical case and the formulation of a plan of assistance with use of Taxonomy, of diagnosis nursing NANDA-I, of results nursing NOC and interventions nursing NIC, we wanted to demonstrate how the nurse, in synergy with the rest of the team diabetes, lay particular emphasis on the relational aspect and educational using a model of care integrated, as well as diabetic injury treated with dressings advanced. This proved to be a winning strategy to achieve the expected health outcomes, improve therapeutic adhesion, the ability to self-care and the both physical and mental health status of the client.
