Abstract
This thesis intends to revise the current guidelines for patient management in septic shock from the point of view of nursing care. To treat this topic was necessary to identify, firstly, commoncauses that determine the appearance of the disease and to which the nurse, as a health professional, can remedy. Therefore, care-related infections (ICAs) are analyzed and how to prevent them according to the most up-to-date guidelines. Subsequently, the criteria describing this pathological condition are taken into account, specifying the alterations it conducts to the various organs and the patient's management and monitoring activities of which the nurse is responsible. In the final part, attention is shifted to invasive examinations, activities and procedures that are implemented more frequently on these patients, specifying the key points that it is crucial to respect in the literature. The document is concluded with my own reflections, obtained from the research carried out.
