Abstract
The object of study of the thesis is the condition of delirium that affects an increasing number of elderly patients hospitalized with particular reference to novelty on its management and treatment with non pharmacological techniques, focusing especially to treat the experience of GMU opened to Hong Kong and on the Snoezelen Room NOCSAE Baggiovara. The purpose is to highlight the importance of the problem and the fundamental role played by no drug therapies in the treatment of these patients. The first part discusses the problem of delirium, they are treated the causes, possible treatments, and much attention is placed on use of the new scales to assessment and diagnosis. In the second part is presented the GMU, a unit specialized in the treatment of this category of patients. In the third part it is exposed the project opened in Baggiovara the Snoezelen Room and its protocol of intervention for these patients.
