Abstract
This thesis aims to deepen the topic of pediatric palliative care, as with medical and technological advances, the number of children
bearing incurable or terminal pathologies is constantly increasing. It is appropriate to provide this type of patient with adequate careto enable them to achieve the best possible quality of life. The ideal place of care, according to children and their families, seems
to be domicile. According to the Family Centered Care model, the care unit also includes the family, whose members are in turn in
need of support. In home care, the nurse plays a key role and, in the team, helps ensure adequate care for children and their
families. The aim of the thesis is to define the role of nurse in pediatric palliative care, starting from "Core Curriculum in Terapia del Dolore e Cure Palliative Pediatriche-Il lavoro in équipe. Curriculum del medico, dell’infermiere e dello psicologo”. The reality is an inadequate care delivery, both for the poor training of health professionals and for the low number of patients and heterogeneous clinical situations. The dissertation of the thesis is carried out using the bibliographic research method.
