Abstract
The arthroplasty of the hip is an operation which is widely requested worldwide.
The older age of patients is now the major risk which has further increased in 2016.
The professional figure of the nurse and the continuous evolution of procedures require a complete training in order to guarantee an holistic approach to patients.
The care process must also include moments of therapeutic education so that the patient is taught the importance of taking care of its own health.
The choice of performing arthroplasty with frontal access instead of posterior lateral access can greatly affect the patient's quality of life and well being.
It is extremely important that the training and information given to patients is adequate so that they can choose which type of operation is better for them ad this can affect their rehabilitation programs.
