Abstract
This thesis aims to explore nursing in pediatric oncology and hematology care assistance which is one of the more complex as it requires expertise in technical and relational practices. The complexity is determined by the special age of the patient that runs from newborn to adolescence. In order to provide adequate preparation to nurses and future nurses that they are confronted with teenager patient with cancer, it is presented in this thesis work, the European guidelines and literature on taking care of the patient mentioned above, and autobiographical narration of a patient that during his teenage years he fought against cancer. It wants to offer food for thought on the nursing "care" and the importance of the relationship with the young patient, who is in hospital helpless, scared and confused. The review of the literature showed that, however extensive and appropriate is the preparation of nurses, dealing with a cancer patient teenager is not easy. Precisely because of the fragile stage of evolution which he must deal with, we need a lot of motivation and empathy’s capacity to understand his experiences during hospitalization. It is of primary importance to allow the patient to narrate their feelings and emotions that he feels, to establish a helping relationship and understand the real needs of the patient himself.
