Abstract

The nursing care is a service to the person, the family and the collectivity. Realize itself trough specific interventions, autonomuos and complementary with intellectual nature , scientific-technical, managerial, relational and educational. (nursing code of ethics). In intensive care, more than in other areas, it is important to focus not only on patient care, but also in assistance to the family, which can undergo a series of psychological disorders such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder , complicated grief and anxiety. A Society of Critical Care Medicine Task force proposed in 2010 a new name for this set of disorders: postintensive care syndrome-family.

 The elaborate aims to treat the postintensive care syndrome-family and to demonstrate the importance of the nurses that through counseling and guidance provided from the American College of Critical Care can prevent and detect those at risk for this syndrome that affects the relatives of patients admitted in intensive care. In the last part of this paper is presented a standardized care plan, realized by using the taxonomies of nursing science NANDA-I, NOC and NIC, opened to possible amendement and usable in family care in Intensive Care Unit.
