Abstract

This thesis aims to analyze the consumption  of alchool in a population of adolescents, their perception of the risks associated with the use of alchool and the damage that alchool can cause. Also, I wanted to investigate their interest in acquiring more information about alchool and related risks, and if the nurses can be the suitable person to provide tjos type of information. For my study, I created a questionnaire consists of eight closed questions, completely anonymous. The survey sample is composed of 201 children belonging to the third class of two middle schools in the province of Modena. The main results that are emerging regarding the consumption of alchool are: already 46% of males and 27% female acknowledge that you have taken alchohol ,and most of them said they knew what the risks related to the use of alchohol, and most of them said they knew what the risks related to use of alchol. As fir their interest in having more information of the subject, 58% of males and 60% of females is willing to improve knowledge through activities and mettings with experts within the school;finally most of them considers the nurse,a competent figure able to provide useful information. In the age group 11-14 years alchohol consumption should be zero, but my syudy and the data provided by ISTAT shows that even that age has made use of alcholic beverages. So, is important to implement educational interventions that can honestly inform young people about the risks  and consequences that alchool can cause.
