Abstract
The system of donation and transplantation has achieved great things over the past decades in terms of surgical techniques and immunosuppressive therapy enabling an improvement not only of survival but also the quality of life of patients undergoing liver transplantation. Continuous innovations and the new concept of care and assistance required more and more collaboration and integration between the various professionals by demonstrating how the vision of èquipe is the basis to bring the health system and the health services provided to patients to levels of quality required. The assistance has become increasingly complex and nurses must be able to provide assistance, personalized and complete each field, high-level candidates for transplantation in collaboration with other health care professionals to achieve optimal outcomes and allow continued treatment beyond the hospital setting.
