Abstract

Bone marrow transplantation (BMT) involves the infusion of hematopoietic stem cells obtained from a donor histocompatible completely or partially taken from bone marrow, from peripheral or umbilical cord blood.
The reinfusion of stem cells to the patient is preceded by radio-chemotherapy.
The bone marrow transplantation is a technique that is used, in recent years, as first-line therapy in cases of hematological malignancies.
The course of treatment and high doses of chemotherapy and radiation therapy involving the appearance of early and late complications in patients such as the occurrence of infections in the period immediately following transplantation and the onset of Graft-versus-Host-Disease (GVHD) or acute chronic.
The graft effect on patients' quality of life emerges from qualitative studies examined, which is particularly affected.
The physical, social and psychological that constitute the construct of quality of life are profoundly changed.
And 'therefore essential to ensure a global assistance and long-term nursing to assess the quality of life and to then plan and custom nursing interventions aimed at improving the quality of life of patients during this period of their lives.
