Abstract
The aim of this paper is to underline the relevance of the caregiver of the patient suffering from dementia, in particular the Alzheimer type.
The bibliographic research has been made in particular on database ,examining first the fundamental features of the diagnosis and the clinical characteristics and examining the figure of the caregiver and the potential burden.
Further in this work a collection of potential intervention on for the caregiver both as regards foreign research and specifically in Modena's area is described.
It is underlined the potentiality of the nurses role as support for the family.
The work ends with a clinical case after an experience developed in the nucleus for dementia of Villa Igea.
