Abstract
This script considers the patient undergoing total knee arthroplasty and puts the emphasis on the importance of the educative process realized by the nurse since the choice of the type of surgery to the discharge.
Throughout this document, simultaneously with the above-mentioned steps, there are different modes to be considered such as personalized meetings, reading brochures, watching movies, with which educational interventions can be delivered.
It provides an explanation of the advantages of every educative intervention for the patients about the compliance’s increase, the following home management, the decrease of the length of stay and of the risk of developing complications, with consequent reduction of the costs.
In conclusion, the application of the educative approach to every type of health care is recommended, since the achieved results are certainly positive.
