Abstract
The Palliative Cares are taking an increasingly important role in Italy, thanks to the combination between the development of effective treatments for various illnesses and a healthier population: this made possible to extend the average life,by determining the progressive aging of the population, which has more often chronic degenerative diseases and debilitating.
In this context, through a review of national and international literature, it has been searched for the specific role and the skills needed to a nurse to be able to provide the best assistance in the field of palliative cares. Afterwards, it has been analyzed the Inter Pares project, recently developed by Modena and Reggio Emilia agency, to cope the increasing request of the population for the assistance of the specialized inter pares nurses.
