Abstract
The thesis focuses on the theme of Euthanasia, a topic of great resonance in the current scene of debate, and yet most sufficiently deepened in relation to the nursing professional.
The research aims to define Death both from a cultural and clinical point of view, with the purpose of mirroring the multifaceted complexity of the subject and propose as much as possible an inclusive and global reflection.
The professional and emotional involvement of the nurse is the keystone of this delicate medical procedure which must be carried on with awareness and freedom by the patient and by those who take a part in it.
The bibliography is drawn from the humanistic and juridical sphere, and from specific publishings of the sector, in particular from databases such as Pubmed, Cochrane and Cinhal.
In conclusion, the research underlines the general shortness of precise guidelines, shows the unsolved passages regarding the definition of the role and, underlines some specific requirements that are indispensable such as active listening, the ability to act as an intermediary, to be right and honest and consider the science of Haptonomia; also critic is the psychological and emotional integrity of the nurse which is dealing with the Euthanasia.
