Abstract

Relevance of the problem. Cancer is a very common disease in today's society. It has a  long and difficult course and requires specific cares. Today we can do a lot to prevent it, by leading a healthy quality of life, which means a balanced diet, doing sport, reducing the exposure to potentially harmful agents, adherence to screening tests. In case of people diagnosed with cancer we have to take their lives to the highest level of well-being. Cancer brings with itself fear and anxiety, not only in the Patient who is affected but also in the family, and more generally in the whole society. Subject of the thesis. Each case of cancer  involves the implementation of an integrated care pathway, that also includes focusing on the aspects of the life of the patient's illness and his family. It's very difficult to approach a cancer patient and when we have to deal with a foreing person, things get more complicated because of many barriers, for example: linguistic, cultural and religious barriers. Therefore this requires the healthcare provider greater empathy and expertise, acquired with university training and work experience. The aim of the thesis. Consist in analyzing the different aspects related to the foreing neoplastic patient care with the purpose of creating a good terapeutic alliance, in order to support the patient and guide him towards the network of health services offered by his enviroment, with great attention to the healthcare settings where palliative cares are provided.
