Abstract
The hospitalized child needs help and special assistance, useful for the achievement of its psychophysical well-being and to deal, without traumas and fears, the period of hospitalization. This elaborate explains the different techniques of communication towards young patients, the different reactions to hospitalization and disease and some advice for parents. Are then described in the specific the communication tools, recommended by several studies according to the Boston Children's Hospital (2014), Farouk s. (2014), California Pacific Medical Center (2014), Bonioli e. (2009) et al, through health-care workers and nurses in first person, they can relate with the sick child. Role play, games, puppets, computer and multimedia interfaces on tablets, cartoons, bibliotherapy and conversation maps, can be used to help the child understand how it is organized, what will be done to him and what will he will feel both physically and psychologically. To this is added the social component, as the child can take advantage of these resources with other infants and with parents, encouraging the exchange of information about the hospital and experiences.
