Abstract
The purpose of this thesis was to identify the main care interventions aimed at the prevention of knee prosthesis infection. It was made a little introducton to the anatomy of this articulation, the indications and contraindications to knee replacement. Are identified preoperative and postoperative care interventions aimed at the protection of patient health. The main part of the elaborate concern the prevention of infections and their treatment. It includes complications related to the surgery, the risk factors related to development of infection, the manifestations (early onset, delayed or late), the role of biofilms, the main interventions for the prevention of infections, surgical treatments and therapy antibiotic care. For the layout of the thesis they have been used scientific articles, scientific journal articles, literature reviews and books.
