Abstract
The thesis explores the topic of alcoholism as a social phenomenon , the management and prevention of acute intoxication by alcohol as a disease that involves many risk factors , even in the young population. With a collection of epidemiological data derived from the analysis of access in the emergency room of Baggiovara with alcohol abuse diagnosis, trying to figure out what is the extent of the problem in our area . The chapters try to dissect the topic starting from the evidence of the problem at national level, analysis of ethanol substance and its toxicity, effects on and of alcohol related disease such as acute alcohol intoxication , up to talk about prevention, and what is the point of contact between the patient with a history of alcohol abuse and the nurse.
