Abstract
The goal of my research was to get as much information as possible about the nursing management of children on peritoneal dialysis, and his parents, both from a practical point of view that the psychological and emotional.
To perform a systematic review of the literature, at first I made use of gray literature in consultation with the major search engines such as Google scholar, Google Books and the Internet in general. From these sources were taken 7 articles. Then I considered the primary databases such Chinal, PubMed and UpToDate. I used the the keywords and MeSH terms: Peritoneal dialysis, Pediatrics, Health education, child, infant, children. Articles results pertinent to the subject I chose were 34. Of these I have selected 4 were taken into considerations articles that highlight the pediatric patient, they were in Italian or English and published since 2005. They were also consulted 8 textbooks.
Subsequently these items are from me been reworked and arranged in such a way as to make as clear as possible that the nurse's role is crucial to the child in peritoneal dialysis and for parents as it facilitates the deal and accept a life change so grand as having to adapt to a chronic disease. It follows, then, from this paper that the intervention of the nurse through the nursing care plan is essential to promote normality and ensure that the disease does not gain the upper hand in the daily life of the child and parents.
