Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to describe a welcoming project plan for the Oncological Day Hospital of Carpi. This work underlines the importance of a complete taking care of the oncological patient by the nurse, especially if it is supported by an adequate therapeutic education. This program’s main goal is to reduce the patient’s anxieties and fears, satisfying all the supporting, emotional, relational and social needs, providing him with all the information about the disease and the diagnostic-therapeutical journey that he has to take on. Thanks to the meeting fixed before the beginning of the chemotherapical cycle the patient will have the opportunity to clarify his doubts, to become familiar with the treatment place and the operators in order to consciously adhere to the treatment and to become as autonomous as possible in the symptomps’, complications’ and drugs’ home management.
In this interview the operator will have the opportunity to know the patient and, thanks to his technical training and his communicative and relational skills, he could offer a global support extended to the whole family unit.
