Abstract

This document intends to analyze the current organization of the Pediatric Palliative Care in Italy and in some other Countries in the world, presenting a project of a Pediatric Hospice in Modena capable to assist up to five children for relief hospitalization or to assist them till death.
Pediatric Palliative Care drive the child throughout the entire course of the disease, even together with other treatments, trying to counteract the painful affections as much as possible. For this reason, they make the disease more tolerable and allow clinicians to intervene even in the most severe cases.
To any child who needs Pediatric Palliative Care it is necessary to ensure a proper assistance response according to his main requirements together with those of his family, always considering the social and cultural context in which they live. As evidence of this point, the most appropriate care network to ensure Palliative Care should provide both home and residential care, which integrates the most efficient characteristics of both, in order to treat the terminal disease in the most efficient way.
The collected information from the books and from a cognitive reality show an inequitable and fragmented care supply.
From the carried research, emerge the first signs of a change in many fronts, by optimizing the proposed projects in order to ensure the best possible care supply. Despite these improvements, it is evident that more training plans and information flows are required, in order to raise awareness about the importance of these cures and to improve the existing facilities.
The cognitive survey on the organization of the CPP and of the various cases in Italy and in some other countries in the world was made by means of a literature review with the consultation of primary and secondary databases and of Internet.
