Abstract
A multicultural society requires, in health care, the adoption of effective measures to meet the different needs expressed by users from different cultures. In order to ensure quality of care and customized service plans, it is necessary to achieve a holistic view of the patient's world, deepening his experiences, socio-cultural factors, values and beliefs. This approach is the basis of the principle around which developed the thesis, that of "culturally congruent nursing care", following M.M. Leininger’s theory represented in the Sunrise Model. The application of this model as an investigative tool to explore the needs of a Tunisian patient of SerT located in Modena, has allowed us to observe how this might affect the creation of an effective relationship between the patient and nurse from another culture.
