Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the evolution of autonomy in nursing territories of Modena and Valencia (Spain), strarting from experiences of training activities in the field. The autonomy of the nurse began to develop thanks to the change that underwent the legislation regulating the professional practice, which allowed redefining the image of professionals and assigning more and more responsibilities. The term itself expresses an ability to take charge of and response to care needs of the people that comes from training, from good practices, by disciplinary models and principles of the Code of Ethics.
Also, I have analyzed the relationship that exists between autonomy and collaboration, as they are closely connected to each other and how the presence of one does not imply the absence of the other. I decided to consider only the territory as compared to the hospital presents a different organization of work that allows them to develop greater autonomy and relationship with the patient. Services in which I have done training and that have been the primary source for
writing out are the Ambulatory Care Nursing, the House of Healt and Home Care, in the Modena area, while the Centro de Salud, in the Comunidad Valenciana. The ability to observe and get to know the different realities has allowed us to describe how autonomy is not only a concept expressed in the literature but also a reality that slowly is developing. In addition, the opportunity to carry out internships in the region of Valencia (Spain), has allowed to observe the Italian situation, especially that of Modena, from another perspective.
