Abstract
The major theme of this thesis is the nursing care to the patient operated of radical cystectomy according to Bricker. The nurse plays a central role in the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative. In the preoperative assistance, following clinical examination, the patient should be taken over by a multiprofessional team . Throughout the process of care, nurse deals with the compilation of a plan of care, considering all areas of interest and identifying the care needs of the assisted, setting the resulting actions. The nurse in the intraoperative phase aims patient safety, assessment of adverse events that can appear and its prevention. Postoperatively the nursing activities are based on the improvement of the health status of the patient, considering not only the physical but also the psychological and emotional components. Even at this stage, the nurse must set up a care plan, with specific objectives planning and implementing interventions adapted to the needs of the patient and his family. At discharge, the patient should be informed about at follow-up specific to his clinical situation and should be educated to maintain even at home his health. The role of stoma specialist is critical. This professional figure, nurse, deals with multidisciplinary and is involved throughout the perioperative process. He cooperate with nurses of the department and they together educate the patient with regard to understand not only the purely theoretical, but also the practical aspects.
