Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to investigate whether there is evidence on the possibility of obtaining a blood sample valid for investigation laboratoristiche directly from a peripheral venous catheter already implanted. This would be a major advantage in fact decrease the discomfort of the patient during the hospital stay, reduced workload and venipunctures as well as the risk of injury biological health personnel. On this subject, it seems that there are not many concordances at the level of national and international studies. The aims of study is to compare the level of hemolysis of the samples collected from the peripheral venous catheter with those of the samples collected by venipuncture.
In light of the review of the literature found, it can be concluded that writing on the 'topic are still many conflicting opinions. The studies reviewed are difficult to compare, and have obtained results also very different.
Undoubtedly it is difficult to draw firm conclusions, except to agree on some important factors, such as the caliber of the catheter, which militate hemolysis sample more marked.
