Abstract
Childhood asthma is one of the most common chronic disease in the world. I decided to write a handbook for school age children on self-management of asthma, because I believe that one of the most fascinating and important aspect of our profession is to help people with chronic diseases in the search for personalized strategies which could be applied in everyday life. The aim is to help them to adapt their life to this new condition and continue to live with independence and peace of mind. In the first chapter there are notes on anatomy and pathophysiology of asthma, the second one is focused on the disease, how it is diagnosed, its monitoring and drug treatment. The third chapter is about the therapeutic education of the asthmatic child and his family and the last chapter presents the handbook that I elaborate, useful in therapeutic education of the asthmatic child. The methodology and criteria of implementation of the handbook are also illustrated .
