Abstract
With the Professional Profile of the nurse and the code of ethics, is defined the nursing figure operative in the field of nursing care, rehabilitation and prevention. The prevention of tobacco consumption is an important skill nursing, and the nurse's role consists in educating and illustrate how the cigarette became master of the body, what are the damages caused by cigarette smoking and the benefits achieved by smoking cessation. Taking a cue from the questionnaire "Why smoke?" administered the territory from central anti-smoking (CAF) of the Substance Abuse Modena (SerT), this thesis research has been developed on the study of the phenomenon of smoking among nursing students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, quantitatively evaluating what are the reasons why the subjects to smoke and carrying out epidemiological evaluations within the Nursing Degree Program. The statistical epidemiological studies have shown that the phenomenon of smoking differs from region to region and even between the different provinces of Emilia Romagna, with shades of age from childhood-adolescence (theories and models of initiation) until the age senile. With the experience by attending group therapy of CAF (March-May 2014), I have finished this work by illustrating the free service offered by Sert in the territory through the CAF, showing as articuled the cognitive behavioral path with motivational technique, and the right skills of motivational counseling, helpful nurse to help smokers win against the monster called smoke and make effective the work of persuasion regarding this scourge of society.
