Abstract
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death in men in western countries. For this reason, in Italy men who have passed the age of 50 undergo annual screening, in order to identify risk factors or tumors in their earliest stage.This paper has the aim of highlighting, through a litrature review, the most important aspects of relevance, incidence and different treatment options for the prostate cancer. The early chapters describe different options for the surgical treatment of prostate cancer, and even the nursing - care for possible postoperative complications. Subsequently, two different methods for pelvic - floor muscle rehabilitation are described, comparing the results that a recent study scored on patients who have performed one or the other rehabilitative method. The findings of the study are in favor of a early pelvic - floor rehabilitation, that can help patients to develop a normal urinary and sexual function in a short time, and also impart grace to the self - esteem and cosideration that men have of their own body.
