Abstract
Through the analysis of clinical case of patient with severe SPW, will identify, in parallel, the clinical problems, treatment, care and rehabilitation related to the syndrome in question, through the clinical judgment of various professionals. The large number of organic and behavioral alteration associated with SPW makes it a discover is not easy to manage, which requires the intervention of several specialists with different skills.
The continuous and intensive rehabilitation program that has been done in our case report has brought a great improvement in the ability of the patient and a reduction in the number of hospedalizations. Despite these positive results in term of psychological and behavioral rehabilitation the enormous effort put in place by the educational institution Caritas team, has had only a slight reduction of BMI at the end of the observation period. The finding would indicate the close relationship between obesity and disease-causing hyperphagia presented by patient with PWS, symptoms that are partially modulated through an approach of behavioral and pharmacological. This observation leads us to approach this syndrome, substance dependence, further endorsing the hypothesis that the neurophysiological food and drugs stimulate the same brain circuitry at the level of limbic system.
