Abstract

Aneurysmal aorta disease has a very high mortality rate, however it is unknow to most people, or when it is know, it is not considered dangerous for life. Is important that nurses know how operating when they meet a patient with aneurysm, in practice and in relational.
Starting by this idea, I thought how a person reacts to the aneurysm diagnosis, so it is born my thesis idea. This thesis will explore how be bearer of aneurysm impacts with the life.
Creating an empathic relation is fundamental, because this disease can generate anxiety and fear: the patient who receive the diagnosis suddenly know to be bearer of a disease potentially letal. Furthemore, this diagnosis is made accidentally, so the patient receives the diagnosis without any signal by his body.
This study is realized in the OU of Vascular Surgery in the NOCSAE in Baggiovara, where some patients, operated on aneurysm with EVAR, were interwieved.
The results show that more patients are worry about the problem, but the anxiety does not interfere with his ordinary life. The patient, also, continues to live his life. The person with abdominal aneurysm has not difficult to understand the problematic that hits it. The results show, also, a minimal worry about aneurysmal abodminal aorta disease: this result can be explain by a cultural factor, but it is explain by lack of knowledge for this disease and its potential dangers too. The nurse is an important figure for this patients because it can work for two purposes: information and terapeutical education, for the patient and his family.
