Abstract
The nursing profession finally has a chance to express their skills independently and responsibly. A new way to exercise the nursing activity is represented by the ambulatory care nursing. The institution of this new organizational model establishes its assumptions in some important innovations. The first is certainly due to the scenery that was outlined in the Italian health system, after the "regionalization" and "rationalization" of the same by reducing the number of beds for acute cases and the consequent and necessary strengthening of local services. The other assumption has to be found in the deep evolution of the nursing profession. The ambulatory care nursing can be activated and managed by self-employed or be an integral part of the national health service; the ambulatory care nursing can be executed in different settings, including the hospital and the territory in individual clinics, health centers and homes of Health. I will illustrate how the ambulatory care nursing and mostly which are located within the Cds has become a major landmark and important for all citizens, also looking closely at the reality of Emilia Romagna in particular the Cds of Finale Emilia .
