Abstract
Thesis is about the malnutrition in the elderly and how much this phenomenon is recurring in the hospital. I have chosen to deal with this argument because I have done an internship in the geriatrics department and I realized how little they eat old people during their recovery, influenced by several factors.
In this paper we discuss in the specific what is malnutrition, the causes that lead to this disease state, consequences, clinical tools used in detecting the risk of malnutrition and nutritional criteria of an elderly person.
Another important aspect I focused on is the study about the assistance the nurse puts in place in this field and all interventions that are necessary for the patient to be re-educated on proper nutrition.
