Abstract
INTRODUCTION: my thesis is about the woman suffering from breast cancer, in particular the psychological and behavioral aspect of her partner. A very important aspect in the marital relationship was not only the time of diagnosis of cancer but also the period subsequent to the diagnosis and surgery of mastectomy where the woman sees totally changed her body image, seeing completely disfigured.
CONTENT: in my thesis are therefore analyzed different aspects, starting from the partner's behavior and feelings following a diagnosis of breast cancer; these vary from uncontrolled anger, failure and removal from the woman's partner. With regard to body image, the woman is seen disfigured and deprived of their femininity; this creates a deep state of depression and isolation, tending to alienate the people close to her up to the loss of control over their lives. There have been several studies on the body image of women undergoing mastectomy in Western countries in the developing world, and the partner's behavior after the intervention through questionnaires.
Special attention goes to the care planning that aims to solve the psycho-physical problems not only of the woman suffering from cancer, but also the caregiver, in this case the partner, so I use NANDA diagnosis and NOC and NIC to plan objects and inteventions.
CONCLUSIONS: to conclude, the analysis made with this thesis, there are different behaviors given by each partner dependent on country. What can be defined as a common denominator is the fragility of the woman after the diagnosis of cancer and for this you need a care planning which hits all the key points to give relief to the woman and those around.
