Abstract

Background. The care process is a systematic approach of problem solving used by nurses to identify and treat human responses of individuals, families and communities to actual or potential health problems. To obtain scientific foundations, the nursing has the need to use a taxonomy. The Bachelor of Nursing of Modena, for the preparation of the Care Plan made by students, uses the Taxonomy NNN (NANDA-I, NOC, and NIC) on the Gordon model assessment.
Objective. This work aims to investigate, through a literature review, the use of NNN Taxonomy in education.
Method. It was performed a search in scientific journals, databases CINAHL and nursing texts of interest with respect to the use of NNN Taxonomy in education (interest period 2009-2014). They were searched texts and evaluated system that would allow a rapid association of the NOC and NIC to NANDA-I diagnosis.
Results. They were selected 29 sources, including scientific journal articles and texts, which correspond to the search criteria. After reading the reference material found, they were selected 12 articles/texts. In addition, it was created a spreadsheet that would allow a more rapid association of the results NOC and NIC interventions to NANDA-I diagnosis.
Conclusions. The scientific community agrees on the use of the taxonomy NNN as system to deliver evidence-based care; for this reason, it is necessary to educate students of Nursing to use that language and to enhance its use in education. The use of this taxonomy in almost all the major textbooks for planning assistance supports their integration in education. Nursing students use critical thinking/clinical reasoning as often as you apply a standardized care process, as envisaged in the taxonomy NNN. The use of the spreadsheet for the correction of Care Plan could be piloted and evaluated in the coming years.
