Abstract
This thesis will explore the concept of Chest Pain (DT ) in its various components and in hospitals. I chose this topic because during my training a trainee in the emergency room I found great interest in this type of patient and the optimization of a path more quickly and safely , both for the patient and for all healthcare professionals involved.
My thesis is divided into four parts, the first allows us to have a detailed definition of chest pain , etiology , epidemiology , risk factors and diagnosis.
In the second chapter I went to the triage present within the ER and the nurse's role when operating on a patient with chest pain , illustrating also the medico-legal aspects .
In the first part of the third chapter I have tried to investigate and explain the use and importance of the ER, while in the second part I thought it appropriate and necessary to bring the project " Triage in advanced clinical chest pain " , with the aim of reducing clinical risk and the waiting time for triage, transforming the latter from passive to active .
My thesis concludes by illustrating the steady increase in the percentage of patients presenting to the emergency department with an episode of chest pain. Patients with acute coronary syndrome who are discharged from the hospital wrongly , have an adverse prognosis in the short term . Moreover, the admission of a patient presenting with chest pain and low risk for an episode of acute coronary syndrome, due to a series of unnecessary diagnostic procedures , with their relative burden of complications and increased costs.
