Abstract

This thesis has the goal to show the “Personal Project” which is the tool used by the inter-disciplinary staff of “Casa S. Lazzaro” in Modena.
It host people affected by Hiv and linked diseases, with a missing domestic and social background which determines the impossibility of an house management.
The thesis describe the Hiv features, pharmacological treatment, notes of local epidemiology (Suburb of Modena), socio-cultural overview whereby services committed to Hiv work in Modena.
After illustrating the reality and the structure of “Casa S. Lazzaro”, the thesis, in accord with bio-psycho-social model, arguments the methodology of meeting the care and health needs, as emotional, relational and social longing of each patient.
After a depth analysis on modalities of facing the patients by the inter-disciplinary staff, the thesis go ahead with a description of nursing in this context.
Reasons of adopting the “Personal Project” as a tool which allows to identify single needs and to design personalized intervention are enhanced.
The assumption is focused on supporting the guest in fulfil independently his needs, from the primary physiological needs, as Maslow’s definition, to the secondaries.
Indeed, it become possible to discuss a real existential planning in which the patient can be active and conscious.
Further, the thesis presents a real case on one of the guests currently living in Casa S. Lazzaro.
The conclusion lead to a reflection on the adopted tool and qualitative perception of the particular guest which has to be the active side of nursing care.
