Abstract

In many emergency situations , whether traumatic or internal, there may be cases of problems that require the airway management to ensure the support of vital functions of the patient. In these critical situations , a key role is played by the nurse rescuer who takes care of outside the hospital . Such assistance , once a strictly medical , can now also be drawn by a nurse competent and well prepared. One can therefore understand how the skills and nursing skills are profoundly changed and improved to a ' quality care ( by the TO CARE TO CURE ) .
The airway management is a crucial part of the rescue, as it obstructed airway or compromised can quickly lead to permanent brain or heart damage , even up to the death of the patient.
The airway management requires prompt recognition of the problem of the nurse and his quickness in practice an accurate assessment of the situation and subsequent maneuvers to implement.
During the evaluation , he must categorize the patient and identify situations that endanger the airway , deciding what are the priority maneuvers . You always try to start from basic maneuvers , often in itself decisive , then get to more advanced techniques for control of the airways.
Once the patient has been stabilized , it must be transported in the most suitable hospital . During transport , the activity of the nurse is not finished , because it must continually re-evaluate the patient , check the main vital signs and make sure that the steps taken are adequate in addition to intervene again if the patient's condition worsen .
Fundamental to the rescuer is therefore the practice nurse and the continuous update on the techniques learned .
