Abstract

The Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is an acute coronary syndrome due to obstruction of a coronary artery. Differs depending on the presentation to the ECG in IMA with ST segment elevation or STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) and IMA without ST segment elevation or NSTEMI (Non ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction). Prehospital management should be addressed at an early intervention in the evaluation of indications for coronary reperfusion, as it is a time-dependent disease. The nurse must possess a body of knowledge to an objective assessment and responsible. Must know how to take advantage of the instruments available (12-lead ECG), administer the treatment "on the field" based on MANO protocol (Morphine, Aspirin, Nitroglycerine, Oxygen), prevent and detect the onset of possible complications (hypotension, shock, pulmonary edema, arrhythmias) that often are lethal. In treatment of STEMI patients require a timely transport in UTIC for primary PTCA and an interdisciplinary collaboration and coordinated care, with the aim of improving the outcome for patients with AMI who remains a disease with high mortality in industrialized countries.
