The subject of the present analysis is the muscle-skeletal disorders pathology due to incorrect or excessive Manual Handling of Loads (MHL). It represents one of the major health problems of health workers. To prevent its appearance, the current legislation says that we must first eliminate the causes. If this is not possible we have to reduce or contain the risks through the use of mechanical aids and an appropriate work organization that guarantees the safety of health workers so they are enabled to work at their best. This risk is very difficult to determine, quantify and monitor, because every action performed by a health worker is always unique and unreproducible. We will now specifically analyze the types of MHL, with particular reference to movements performed incorrectly, as well as the correct dimensioning of the operating spaces. 

 

It is important to stress that "the satisfaction of the treatment received by the patient, starts from the health worker's satisfaction regarding the work place and the resources at his disposal, in order to operate pleasantly in his field of studies and mission in life: helping others."
