Abstract

The choice of this dissertation has as an aim, the analysis of the behaviour advice that all people involved in the operating theatre should have during the daily and practical treatment routine.
The prevention of infections correlated to the assistance as well as infections of the operating theatre room, must be considered the first aim and the individual responsibility of each person involved in the Health system.
This is a compilative  dissertation based on the research of articles, books, magazines and research in internet which demonstrates how not following the daily and practical treatment routine in the operating theatre, the risk of each patient to get an infection can arise.
This dissertation is made of four chapters in total, as follows:
in the first chapter is explained what infection in an operating theatre means, with relevant classification, pathogenesis and risk factors; in the second chapter  the operating theatre is described, with reference to the quality of the air and all relevant factors which have an influence on it; in the third chapter the correct behaviour of people involved in the operating theatre is explained and analyzed to prevent  infections of the surgical site and in the last chapter, the fourth, the role of nurses is explained to prevent infections of the operating theatre.
